What is the East Central Colorado Enterprise Zone?

The East Central Colorado Enterprise Zone (EZ) is a state-designated area aimed at fostering economic growth and job creation. Businesses and individuals can earn state income tax credits for contributing to the zone's economic development.

Key Details:

  • Location: Includes all of Cheyenne, Kit Carson, and Lincoln counties, plus most of Elbert County.

  • Tax Benefits:

    • Cash Contributions: 25% state tax credit.

    • In-Kind Contributions: 12.5% tax credit (e.g., property, stocks).

    • Contributions can also be itemized on federal tax returns.
