What is the East Central Colorado Enterprise Zone?
The East Central Colorado Enterprise Zone (EZ) is a state-designated area aimed at fostering economic growth and job creation. Businesses and individuals can earn state income tax credits for contributing to the zone's economic development.
Key Details:
Location: Includes all of Cheyenne, Kit Carson, and Lincoln counties, plus most of Elbert County.
Tax Benefits:
Cash Contributions: 25% state tax credit.
In-Kind Contributions: 12.5% tax credit (e.g., property, stocks).
Contributions can also be itemized on federal tax returns.
Taxpayer Benefits:
Reduces your state tax liability.
Supports local economic development projects.
Directs your funds to meaningful community initiatives.
Community Benefits:

Contribution Guidelines:

Carry Forward: Unused credits can be carried forward for up to 5 years.
